paragraph styles

A paragraph style is a set of attributes—font size and color, for example—you can apply quickly to an entire paragraph. Using paragraph styles ensures a consistent look for the text in your document. For example, you can apply the Heading style to each heading instead of formatting each one individually. Pages for iCloud can also generate a table of contents based on paragraph styles applied in your document.

Paragraph styles appear in the Format sidebar to the right of your document. If you don’t see the sidebar, click the Format button in the toolbar.

The Paragraph Styles pop-up menu in the Format sidebar. The Heading paragraph style, in a red, bold font, is selected.
