
Block and unblock channels and topics in News on Mac
If you don’t want stories from certain channels or topics to appear in the Today or other feeds in Apple News, you can block the channels or topics. If you change your mind later, you can unblock them.
Note: Apple News isn’t available in all countries or regions. See the Apple Support article Availability of Apple Media Services.
Block channels or topics
Go to the News app
on your Mac.
Do any of the following:
Block a channel or topic in the sidebar: Select the channel or topic in the sidebar, choose File > Block Channel or Block Topic, then click Block in the dialog. You can also click
in the top-right corner, choose Block Channel or Block Topic, then click Block in the dialog.
If you don’t see the sidebar, choose View > Show Sidebar.
Block a channel or topic in the Today feed: Next to the channel or topic’s name, click
, choose Block Channel or Block Topic, then click Block in the dialog.
Note: Stories from channels you block show a gray headline and a message indicating that you blocked the channel. To read a story from a blocked channel, click it, then choose Read Story.
Blocking isn’t supported in Top Stories or other groups curated by the Apple News editors, who vet each story in those groups for quality and accuracy.
Unblock channels or topics
Go to the News app
on your Mac.
Choose File > Manage Blocked Channels & Topics.
Click
for a channel or topic, then click Unblock.
Click
