iMac (24-inch, 2024, Four ports) High-Speed Flex Cable
Before You Begin
Remove the following parts before you begin:
Tools
Nylon probe (black stick)
Support wedge kit
Refer to a full list of tools required for all repairs.
Removal
Position the housing with the logic board facing up.
Pull the tab to flip up the locking bar on the logic board end of high-speed flex cable (1). Then slide the end of the high-speed flex cable out of the connector on the logic board (2).
Pull the tab to flip up the locking bar on the adapter board end of the high-speed flex cable (1). Then slide the end of the high-speed flex cable out of the connector on the adapter board (2).
Insert the flat end of the black stick under the high-speed flex cable to loosen the adhesive between the flex cable and adapter board.
Reassembly
Insert the adapter board end of the high-speed flex cable into the connector on the adapter board (1). Then flip down the locking bar on the high-speed flex cable (2).
Insert the logic board end of the high-speed flex cable into the connector on the logic board (1). Then flip down the locking bar on the high-speed flex cable (2).
Press the high-speed flex cable to adhere it to the adapter board.
Important: If you’re installing a replacement high-speed flex cable, remove the adhesive backing from the flex cable. Then press the flex cable to adhere it to the adapter board.
Reinstall the following parts to complete reassembly:
