Connect an Apple wireless keyboard, mouse or trackpad with Mac
To use your Apple keyboard, mouse or trackpad wirelessly with Bluetooth®, you first need to connect the device with your Mac.
Connect an Apple wireless device with a built-in battery
When you connect a Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse 2 or Magic Trackpad 2 to your Mac, the device automatically pairs with your Mac using Bluetooth.
Connect the Lightning end of a USB-C to Lightning Cable or a Lightning to USB Cable to your keyboard, mouse or trackpad, and the other end to the USB-C or USB port on your Mac.
Note: Depending on your Mac, you may need an adapter, which is available from an Apple Store or on apple.com.
Turn the device on and make sure the power switch is green.
You receive a notification when you can disconnect the cable and use your device wirelessly.
Note: You must disconnect your Magic Mouse 2 to use it with your Mac. You can use your Magic Keyboard or Magic Trackpad 2 even while connected to your Mac.
Connect earlier models of Apple wireless devices with replaceable batteries
Turn the device on. Its LED should start blinking to show that it’s discoverable.
On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click Bluetooth in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)
Hold the pointer over the keyboard, mouse or trackpad in the list, then click Connect.
If you replace the batteries in a keyboard, mouse or trackpad, click the mouse or trackpad or press a key on the keyboard to reconnect it with your Mac.
