visionOS 26.0
visionOS 26 includes new features, bug fixes and improvements for enterprise and education deployments.
Software update settings and enforcement on Apple Vision Pro devices with visionOS 26 can now be managed with declarative device management.
Using Apple Configurator for iPhone, organisations can manually add an Apple Vision Pro with visionOS 26 to Apple School Manager or Apple Business Manager even if they didn't purchase the device directly from Apple, an Apple Authorised Reseller or an authorised mobile network provider.
Return to Service can be configured by a device management service for the user to trigger from the Lock Screen, Control Centre or automatically after a set period of inactivity. After securely erasing the device, it automatically enrols in a device management service and configures itself with the appropriate settings, making it ready for the next user quickly and securely.
With enhancements to Quick Start in visionOS 26, users can import their saved Apple Vision Pro setup data that they store in iCloud or on their iPhone. This removes the need to perform hand and eye enrolment, and shortens the time before a user can begin using their Apple Vision Pro.
Setup Assistant panes, such as the selection of a location or accepting terms and conditions in Setup Assistant, can be skipped when using Automated Device Enrolment. When a pane is skipped, the more privacy-preserving setting for that feature is used.
New configurations for Safari allow organisations to customise the browsing experience for their users, including bookmarks, start page, content summarisation and private browsing.
Algorithms DES, 3DES, SHA1-96 and SHA1-160, as well as Diffie-Hellman groups less than 14, are no longer supported for IKEv2 VPNs.
Resolves an issue where an Apple Vision Pro running visionOS 1 and enrolled in Automated Device Enrolment may not be able to proceed past a "Retrieving Configuration" screen after updating to visionOS 2 or later.
