Send your iPad to Apple for a service
When you contact Apple for a service, you’ll receive a kit that has everything you need to send your iPad to Apple.
Before you send in your iPad for a service
Back up your iPad:
Erase your iPad to protect your personal information and remove it from your Apple Account: In Settings, tap General > Transfer or Reset iPad, then tap Erase All Content and Settings. You will need to enter your Apple Account password to confirm.
If you have a Wi-Fi + Cellular iPad model:
If your iPad uses a physical SIM, remove it.
If your iPad uses an eSIM, contact your wireless provider to get a new eSIM or suspend service if needed.
Pack your iPad
The kit you received from Apple has everything you need to pack up your iPad – including the bag to place your iPad in, the box to send it and the return postage label.
Don’t include anything else in the box – such as a case, power adapter, cables or other accessories. If you do, they won’t be returned to you.
Follow the packing instructions printed on the box. If your box doesn’t have instructions, follow these steps:
Place your iPad in the bag.
Remove the plastic covering the self-adhesive strip, then seal the bag by folding the top over.
Put the bag into the box, place the foam piece over the bag, then close the box.
Make sure the battery sticker is pasted flat on the box and isn't covered by tape or a shipping label.
