You can request to transfer the playlists you’ve made in YouTube Music to Apple Music.
Transfer playlists to Apple Music
When you transfer playlists to Apple Music, they won’t be deleted from YouTube Music.
The transfer process usually takes a few minutes, although it may take up to several hours depending on the number of playlists that you’re transferring.
This service is available to Apple Account holders where Apple Music is available. It isn’t available for child accounts or Managed Apple Accounts.
Before you transfer
You’ll need an active Apple Music subscription
You need an active YouTube Music account
What you can transfer
Only the playlists that you’ve created (including collaborative playlists that you own) are transferred
Music files aren’t transferred
Non-collaborative shared playlists and curated playlists aren’t transferred
Playlists can only include songs available on Apple Music. If your playlists contains other audio files – such as podcasts, audiobooks or user-uploaded audio files – they won’t be transferred.
How to transfer your YouTube Music playlists to Apple Music
Go to Google Takeout
Follow the instructions to start an export from YouTube Music.
Choose “Apple Music” as the destination to transfer and sign in to your Apple Account.
Tap Allow to share permission with Google to add playlists to Apple Music.
When you start a transfer, Apple will send email notifications to the email addresses associated with your Apple Account.
You can check the status of or cancel your transfer on Apple’s Data and Privacy page.
When your transfer has completed
You receive a confirmation email from Apple that your transfer is complete.
Your playlists will appear in your Apple Music library, listed at the top of your Recently Added.
If you can’t find some of your playlists in your Apple Music library, your Apple Music library may be full.
If a song is missing from a playlist, that song may not be available in Apple Music. Alternatively, that playlist may exceed Apple Music’s limit for songs in a playlist.
If you update a playlist after it has been transferred, it won’t be updated in the other service.
If you cancel your transfer, playlists that have already been transferred will remain in Apple Music.
