If an app on your Mac stops responding, closes unexpectedly or won’t open
If an app on your Mac doesn’t work as expected, try these solutions.
Close and reopen the app
If the app is open, try to close the app, then open it again. If it won’t quit, force the app to quit.
Restart your Mac
Install software updates
If you got the app from the App Store, open the App Store and check the Updates section for updates. If you got the app from another source, get updates from the app developer’s website.
Delete and reinstall the app
Delete the app. When you do this, you may lose data that was stored in the app.
Then re-download the app. If you didn’t get the app from the App Store, download it again it from the app developer’s website.
