How do I get my AirPort device fixed?

Apple offers many ways to get support and service for your AirPort Express, AirPort Extreme, or AirPort Time Capsule. Choose the one that’s best for you. Our support articles might answer some of your questions, including how to set up Wi-Fi or AirPlay, connect a printer to your network, or restore your content from an AirPort Time Capsule backup.

Apple Limited Warranty coverage

Our Limited Warranty covers your AirPort device and Apple-branded accessories against manufacturing defects for one year from the date you bought them. The Apple Limited Warranty is in addition to rights provided by consumer law. The statutory term is already included on this one-year warranty, as provided by local law.

Can I buy additional coverage for my AirPort device?

If you buy an AppleCare Protection Plan for Mac, Apple TV, or iPad (if available in your country or region), it includes expert telephone support and hardware service coverage for your AirPort device. Your AppleCare plan will cover your AirPort product if: 

  • You bought your AirPort device no more than two years before you buy the Mac, Apple TV, or iPad, or
  • You bought an AirPort device during the term of your AppleCare plan for Mac, Apple TV, or iPad

The statutory term is already included on the one-year warranty, as provided by local law.  You may also have consumer law rights. Apple Limited Warranty and AppleCare plan benefits are in addition to your rights under consumer law.

Out-of-warranty service

Repairs are considered out of warranty when:

  • Your AirPort device is over one year old
  • Your product has an issue that’s not covered under warranty or consumer law, like accidental damage or damage caused by unauthorized modifications

We charge for out-of-warranty service. If we find a hardware issue with your AirPort device we can service or replace it with one that’s new. Or upon your written consent, we can replace it with one that’s equivalent to new in both performance and reliability. The statutory term is already included on the one-year warranty, as provided by local law. Contact your service representative for details.

Get ready for AirPort service

Keep your cables and other accessories when you get service.

After service

We guarantee our service, including replacement parts, for 90 days or the remaining term of your Apple warranty or AppleCare plan coverage, whichever is longer. We offer this whenever you get service from us or from an Apple Authorized Service Provider. The statutory term is included in this period, as provided by consumer law.
