Set up Apple Cash

When you set up Apple Cash, you can send and receive money with people you know. You can also make purchases when you use Apple Cash with Apple Pay or use your virtual card number in most places Visa is accepted.

How to set up Apple Cash

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Vision Pro.

  2. Scroll down and tap Wallet & Apple Pay.

  3. Turn Apple Cash1 on.

  4. Under Payment Cards, tap Apple Cash.

  5. Tap Continue, then follow the instructions on your screen.

When someone sends you money, it's automatically and securely kept on your Apple Cash card. You can find your new Apple Cash card in the Wallet app.

If you turn off Apple Cash on a device, you can still use Apple Cash on other devices where you’re signed in to your Apple Account.

  • To protect your account and to use all the features of Apple Cash, you need to verify your identity. After you've verified your identity, you can use all Apple Cash features, and your account is FDIC-insured.

To send and receive money with an Apple Cash account, you must be 18 and a U.S. resident. If you’re under 18, your family organizer can set up Apple Cash for you as part of their Apple Cash Family account, but you may not be able to access features that require a supported payment card. Security checks may require more time to make funds available. Apple Cash Family accounts can only send or receive up to $2000 within a rolling seven-day period. Tap to Cash transactions can only be used to send or receive up to $2000 within a rolling seven-day period. Other limits apply, see Terms and Conditions for details. To access and use all Apple Cash features, you must have an eligible device with Wallet that has the latest version of iOS.

  2. You can't use person-to-person payments with Apple Cash for business-related activities, like operating a business or paying employees.

  3. You can choose to direct Daily Cash to a Savings account or to an Apple Cash card. If you do not have either set up to receive your Daily Cash, it can be applied as statement credit. Apple Card and Savings accounts are issued or provided by Goldman Sachs Bank USA, Salt Lake City Branch, Member FDIC. The Apple Cash card is issued by Green Dot Bank, Member FDIC. Daily Cash is earned on purchases after the transaction posts to your account. Actual posting times vary by merchant. Daily Cash is subject to exclusions, and additional details apply. To access and use all Apple Card features and products available only to Apple Card users, you must add Apple Card to Wallet on an iPhone or iPad that supports and has the latest version of iOS or iPadOS. Apple Card is subject to credit approval, available only for qualifying applicants in the United States, and issued by Goldman Sachs Bank USA, Salt Lake City Branch.
