Mac Studio (2025) Internal Frame

Before You Begin

Warning

Read Mac Electrical Safety and follow workspace handling guidelines before you begin.

Remove the following parts before you begin:

Tools

  • Adjustable torque driver (0.3–1.2 Nm)

  • Torx T6 70 mm bit

Refer to a full list of tools required for all repairs.

Removal

Note: If you’ve already completed the removal steps, skip to reassembly.

  1. Use the 0.3–1.2 Nm adjustable torque driver and T6 70 mm bit to remove the eight 6IP screws from the internal frame.

    • Important: The 6IP screw (923-12505) over the power cord port (1) is shorter than the other 6IP screws. During reassembly, it has a different torque specification.

    • One 6IP screw (923-12505) (1)

    • Seven 6IP screws (923-12492)

  2. Move the power cord port (1) and power supply signal cable (2) out of the way as you lift the internal frame out of the housing.

Reassembly

  1. Position the internal frame in the housing with the lock slot (1) opposite the SDXC card slot board and front USB-C ports (2).

  2. Use the 0.3–1.2 Nm adjustable torque driver and Torx T6 70 mm bit to partially reinstall the eight 6IP screws into the internal frame.

    • Important: The 6IP screw over the power cord port (1) is shorter than the other seven 6IP screws and has a different torque specification.

    • One 6IP screw (923-12505) (1)

    • Seven 6IP screws (923-12492)

  3. Set the torque value on the adjustable torque driver to 0.4 Nm. Then use the adjustable torque driver and Torx T6 70 mm bit to fully reinstall the 6IP screw over the power cord port (1).

  4. Set the torque value on the adjustable torque driver to 0.6 Nm. Then use the adjustable torque driver and Torx T6 70 mm bit to fully reinstall the seven 6IP screws into the internal frame.
