iPhone 16e Main Microphone
Before You Begin
Warning
Read Battery Safety and follow workspace and battery handling guidelines before you begin.
Remove the following parts before you begin:
Tools
Adjustable torque driver (10–34 Ncm)
ESD-safe tweezers
Micro stix bit
Nylon probe (black stick)
Super screw bit for adjustable driver
Super screw bit for fixed driver
Torque driver (green, 0.45 kgf cm)
Refer to a full list of tools required for all repairs.

Removal
Lift the black screw tab to reveal a super screw. Use a torque driver and the fixed driver super screw bit to remove the two super screws from the main microphone. Set aside the screws.
Use a torque driver and the Micro stix bit to remove the trilobe screw. Set aside the screw.
Lift the end of the main microphone flex cable off the connector. Then remove the main microphone from the enclosure.
Important: The main microphone is held in place by strong adhesive. Pull the main microphone toward the top of the enclosure until the microphone separates from the adhesive.
Reassembly
Use ESD-safe tweezers to remove all adhesive from the enclosure. Use an ethanol wipe or IPA wipe to clean the enclosure.
Use ESD-safe tweezers to peel the protective liner from the adhesive on the main microphone. Then position the main microphone in the enclosure by aligning the screw holes. Press and hold the top of the main microphone for 15 seconds to adhere it to the enclosure.
Press the end of the main microphone flex cable to the connector.
Set the torque value on the 10–34 Ncm adjustable torque driver to 10 Ncm. Use the adjustable torque driver and adjustable torque driver super screw bit to install two new super screws into the main microphone:
One super screw (923-12369) (1)
One super screw (923-12370) (2)
Use the green torque driver and Micro stix bit to install one new trilobe screw (923-08382).
Reposition the black screw tab into place.
Reinstall the following parts to complete reassembly:
