Use Apple Vision Pro with Travel Mode
With Travel Mode, Apple Vision Pro adapts your experience to the unique motion and environment of airplane, train, car, or bus travel. You can turn on Travel Mode when Apple Vision Pro detects travel, or manually in Control Center.
Turn on Travel Mode when Apple Vision Pro shows an alert
When Apple Vision Pro senses that you're traveling, a Turn On Travel Mode alert appears. Just press the Digital Crown to confirm. If you don't want to turn on Travel Mode, turn the Digital Crown to select Cancel, then press the Digital Crown.
Never use Travel Mode if you're not traveling by airplane, train, car, or bus. If Apple Vision Pro asks you to turn on Travel Mode when you're not traveling, turn the Digital Crown to select Cancel, then press the Digital Crown.
Turn Travel Mode on or off in Control Center
Tap the .
Tap Turn On Travel Mode to confirm.
To exit Travel Mode, go back to Control Center, then tap Turn Off.
Keep these things in mind when using Travel Mode
Travel Mode is for use only when you're a passenger in an airplane, train, car, or bus. Using Apple Vision Pro as a passenger in a moving vehicle may increase your risk of injury. Never use Apple Vision Pro while operating a moving vehicle, bicycle, heavy machinery, or in uncontrolled environments requiring attention to safety. When traveling by car: Use Apple Vision Pro only in a rear seat of the car.
When traveling by bus: Note that Travel Mode works best on long-distance and commuter buses.
When traveling by airplane: Take off your Apple Vision Pro during taxiing, takeoff, and landing. Also, remove your device any time the flight has turbulence.
Stay seated while using Travel Mode, and take off your Apple Vision Pro before you stand up.
Avoid looking out windows, since this can affect your device's ability to track your surroundings.
Be aware of your surroundings. When you use Travel Mode, features that help you see and stay aware of your surroundings are turned off.
If content in Apple Vision Pro appears tilted or off-center, long-press the Digital Crown to re-center your view.
If you restart Apple Vision Pro, Travel Mode turns off.
Availability of some Apple Vision Pro features in Travel Mode
If you have Pointer Control turned on and set to use your head as the pointer, you might not be able to turn on Travel Mode manually after you start moving. To make sure you can use Travel Mode when your head is set as the pointer, turn Travel Mode on before travel begins. If you're on an airplane, turn Travel Mode on, remove Apple Vision Pro for takeoff, then put it back on when it's safe to do so. If you use Pointer Control and forget to turn on Travel Mode before you start moving, you need to wait until Apple Vision Pro senses that you're traveling and shows the Turn On Travel Mode alert. Then press the Digital Crown to confirm.
Persona and FaceTime aren't available when you're using Travel Mode.
You can’t set up your Apple Vision Pro for the first time while traveling.
If you see an alert that says Tracking Failed
If Apple Vision Pro has trouble tracking your surroundings — whether you're traveling or not — its screen goes dark and a Tracking Failed alert appears.
If this alert appears while you're traveling, press the Digital Crown to turn on Travel Mode. If you're not traveling, remain stationary, select Cancel, and wait until tracking recovers and you can see your surroundings.
