iPad (A16) Front Camera
Before You Begin
Warning
Read Battery Safety and follow workspace and battery handling guidelines before you begin.
Remove the following parts before you begin:
Tools
11-inch repair tray
ESD-safe tweezers
Ethanol wipes or isopropyl alcohol (IPA) wipes
Nitrile or lint-free gloves
Nylon probe (black stick)
Refer to a full list of tools required for all repairs.

Removal
Note: If you’ve already completed the removal steps, skip to reassembly.
Lift the end of the front camera flex cable off the connector.
Use the black stick to lift the front camera out of the enclosure.
Reassembly
Caution
Put on the gloves to prevent contamination of the camera lens.
Use an ethanol wipe or IPA wipe to clean the enclosure of any adhesive residue in the front camera area.
Inspect the replacement front camera assembly. If the protective cover on the front camera or the camera itself appears damaged, replace the front camera.
Remove the adhesive liner from the back of the front camera.
Remove the adhesive liner from the copper side of the foam and adhere the foam to the back of the front camera. Then remove the adhesive liner from the other side of the foam.
Position the front camera in the enclosure. Then press all four corners of the front camera for 10 seconds to adhere it to the enclosure.
Press the end of the front camera flex cable to the connector.
Use ESD-safe tweezers to remove the protective cover from the front camera.
Caution: Don’t touch the camera lens after you remove the protective cover.
Reinstall the following parts to complete reassembly:
