Save iCloud storage by backing up fewer apps
iCloud Backup can automatically back up your iOS or iPadOS device to iCloud. See What is iCloud Backup? You can increase available iCloud storage space by backing up only certain apps.
Note: If iCloud doesn’t back up an app, it doesn’t back up any of the app’s data. If you later restore your iOS or iPadOS device, the app can be reinstalled but its data can’t be restored if it wasn’t backed up.
Turn backup on or off for specific apps
On your iOS or iPadOS device, go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Manage Storage > Backups.
Tap the name of your device, then, under Choose Data to Back Up, turn Backup for each app on or off.
The amount of iCloud storage each app uses is shown below each app in the list.
The apps list may be abbreviated. Tap Show All Apps to see a complete list.
Some Apple apps back up data in iCloud but aren’t included in the list of apps. You can only turn off backup for listed apps.
