Use Screen Time on Apple Vision Pro

With Screen Time in visionOS, you can help keep your child's device usage safe, private, and age-appropriate. And Screen Time settings you change on Apple Vision Pro can be shared across your child's other Apple devices.

To use Screen Time and parental controls on Apple Vision Pro, you need to have Family Sharing set up and your child needs their own Apple Account. When you first set up their account, settings are automatically configured based on their age and sync across their iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Vision Pro, applying wherever relevant. You can customize the settings at any time by following the steps below.

Turn Communication Safety on or off

If your child receives or attempts to send photos or videos that might contain nudity, Communication Safety warns them, blurs the content, and provides helpful resources. For children 13-17, Communication Safety is turned on by default on Apple Vision Pro with the latest software version.

1. In your Apple Vision Pro, open Settings.

2. Tap Screen Time, then tap Communication Safety.

3. Turn Communication Safety on or off.

Set content restrictions

Set age-related restrictions for Siri, purchases and downloads, privacy settings, and more.

1. In your Apple Vision Pro, open Settings.

2. Tap Screen Time, then tap Content & Privacy Restrictions.

3. Turn on Content & Privacy Restrictions, then set the controls that you want:

   1. iTunes & App Store Purchases — Restrict or allow installing apps, deleting apps, and making in-app purchases. Also choose whether to require a password for iTunes, Book, and App Store purchases.

   2. Allowed Apps & Features — Choose apps and features that you want to be available on the Home Screen. Turning off an app or feature removes it from the Home Screen, but doesn't delete it from your Vision Pro.

   3. App Store, Media, Web, & Games — Set restrictions for the content and features that are available from Apple Media Services, on the web, and in Game Center.

   4. Siri — Customize how you want Siri to work on your Vision Pro. This includes selecting Siri AI (beta)* or Siri Classic and choosing whether to allow features like Writing Assistance, Math Assistance, and Image Creation.

   5. Accessibility — Choose whether Accessibility features can use Apple Intelligence to answer questions about images on-device and in your surroundings.

Set privacy restrictions

Allow or prevent privacy-related changes to built-in apps and features, like Location Services and Share My Location.

1. In your Apple Vision Pro, open Settings.

2. Tap Screen Time, then tap Content & Privacy Restrictions.

3. Under Privacy, tap a feature or app, then choose whether to allow it. Each feature or app includes a brief explanation to help you decide.

Restrict changes to features

Allow or prevent changes to system features, like Face ID and speaker volume limit.

1. In your Apple Vision Pro, open Settings.

2. Tap Screen Time, then tap Content & Privacy Restrictions.

3. Under Allow Changes to, tap a feature, then choose whether to allow it.

Share Screen Time settings across devices

1. In your Apple Vision Pro, open Settings.

2. Tap Screen Time.

3. Turn on Share Across Devices.

Using Screen Time with multiple devices

If you use Screen Time to manage your child's iPhone or iPad — and you've turned on Share Across Devices on those devices and Apple Vision Pro — changes you make to Screen Time settings on one device will appear on all devices. Not all Screen Time features that are available on iPhone or iPad are also available on Vision Pro.

Set a Screen Time passcode to prevent changes

1. In your Apple Vision Pro, open Settings.

2. Tap Screen Time.

3. Tap Lock Screen Time Settings.

4. Set a Screen Time passcode. If you turned on Share Across Devices, the Screen Time passcode you set on one device will apply to all your child's devices.
