Use the Shazam app with Apple Music, Spotify and more

To listen to songs that you’ve identified using the Shazam app on iPhone, iPad, or an Android device, you can connect Shazam to Apple Music, Spotify, or other music streaming services.

Connect to Apple Music on iPhone or iPad

If you're an Apple Music subscriber on an Apple device, the Shazam app automatically connects to Apple Music. Tap the Apple Music button near a song to listen to the full song in Apple Music.

Shazam can automatically add identified songs to a playlist called My Shazam Tracks in the Music app:

  1. Tap the Settings buttonSettings button on the main Shazam screen.

  2. Turn on “Sync your songs to Apple Music."

  3. Tap Allow, then tap Continue.

  4. If you’re not already a subscriber, learn how to join Apple Music.

Add a song to a different Apple Music playlist

You can add a song to another Apple Music playlist without leaving the Shazam app:

  1. Tap the Add To Apple Music Playlist button next to Open in Apple Music.

  2. Tap the playlist that you want to add the song to.

If you can't add a song to an existing Apple Music playlist, make sure Sync Library is enabled on your device.

Connect to Spotify on iPhone or iPad

If you have the Spotify app on your device, you can sync your Shazam library to your Spotify account:

  1. On your device, tap the Settings buttonSettings button on the main Shazam screen, then tap Connect next to Spotify.

  2. In Spotify, tap Agree.

  3. To automatically add identified songs to a “My Shazam Tracks” playlist in Spotify, tap OK.

Once you’ve connected Shazam to your Spotify account, you can listen to the whole song:

  • Tap Open in Spotify next to a song that you've identified.

  • In the Library, tap Spotify next to a song that you've identified.

  • Open Spotify to listen to identified songs in the My Shazam Tracks playlist.

Listen to songs with other streaming services on iPhone or iPad

You can also connect Shazam on iPhone or iPad with a variety of other third-party services like Amazon Music, YouTube, YouTube Music, Deezer, and AudioMack. Some services appear only if you have them installed on your device.

To listen to a song with one of these services, do either of the following:

  • Tap the More button next to a song, then tap an option to listen to the song with that service.

  • Touch and hold a song, then choose a service.

Connect Shazam to music services on Android devices

Some services appear in Shazam only if you have them installed on your device. To connect Shazam to a music service:

  • After you've identified a song, tap the More options button on the track screen, tap an available music app, then tap Always.

  • Tap the Settings button, tap “Default music app" under "Music app preference," tap an available music app, then tap “Set default.”

Sync your Shazam library to Apple Music or Spotify on an Android device

When you sync your library, Shazam automatically adds identified songs to a playlist called My Shazam Tracks in the Music app or in Spotify:

  1. Swipe to the Library in Shazam.

  2. Tap the Settings button.

  3. Under "Music app preference," turn on Sync Shazam Library to Apple Music (or Spotify).

  4. If you tapped Apple Music and you're not subscribed, tap Try It Free to set up an account.

To open an identified song in a music app on an Android device

  • If you've connected Shazam to a service, tap the service under the song title on the track screen or in your Library.

  • If you haven't connected Shazam to a service, tap "Open song in" on the track screen after identifying a song, then choose a service.

  • On the track screen or in the Library next to a song, tap the More options button, then choose a service.

If prompted, sign in to the service to listen to the song with that service.
