iMac (24-inch, M1, 2021, Two ports) VESA Mount Adapter
Before You Begin
Remove the following part before you begin:
Tools
- Adjustable torque driver (1.2–3 Nm) 
- Support wedges 
- Torx Plus 10IP bit 

Important
This procedure requires alignment pins, which only come with a new VESA mount adapter. They aren’t separate orderable parts.
Removal
- Lay the computer flat in the VESA support slot wedge with the back of the housing facing down and the logic board closest to you. 
- Insert the Torx Plus 10IP bit into the 1.2–3 Nm adjustable torque driver. 
- Use the adjustable torque driver and Torx Plus 10IP bit to remove the seven 10IP screws (923-05554) in the order shown. - Caution: Push down firmly when removing the screws to avoid stripping the screw heads. 
   
- Lift the computer off the support stand. - Note: The VESA mount adapter and VESA flange will remain in the VESA support slot wedge. 
  
Reassembly
Note: If you’re swapping a VESA mount adapter for a stand, follow the reassembly steps in the stand reassembly procedure.
- Firmly press the two alignment pins into the outer screw holes in the middle of the VESA mount adapter.  
- Install the flange over the alignment pins and onto the VESA mount adapter.  
- Lift the housing. Then align the housing so the screw holes line up with the alignment pins.  
- Slide the housing onto the alignment pins. Ensure the alignment pins enter the outer screw holes of the housing.  
- Insert the Torx Plus 10IP bit in the 1.2–3 Nm adjustable torque driver. Set the torque value 1.4 Nm. 
- Use the adjustable torque driver and Torx Plus 10IP bit to partially reinstall the seven 10IP screws (923-05554) in the order shown.  
- Use the adjustable torque driver and Torx Plus 10IP bit to fully reinstall the seven 10IP screws in the order shown.  - Caution: Push down firmly when installing the screws to avoid stripping the screw heads.
