Out-of-warranty service

Service is considered out of warranty when:

  • Your Apple Watch is beyond the eligible warranty term or consumer law coverage period
  • Your Apple Watch has an issue that’s not covered under warranty or consumer law, like accidental damage or damage caused by unauthorized modifications

We might be able to fix or replace your Apple Watch for an out-of-warranty fee. Your replacement Apple Watch has factory settings and will be new or equivalent to new in performance and reliability. The Apple Limited Warranty is in addition to rights provided by consumer law.

Battery service

If your battery has a manufacturing defect and it's covered by the Apple Limited Warranty, AppleCare+, or consumer law, we'll service your Apple Watch at no additional cost.

When your Apple Watch isn’t covered by warranty, AppleCare+, or consumer law and we find that it holds only 80 percent or less of its original battery capacity, we offer out-of-warranty battery service.

We might need to test your product to find the cause of your battery issue. Our warranty doesn’t cover batteries that wear down from normal use.

If your Apple Watch screen breaks accidentally, you might have the option to replace your Apple Watch for an out-of-warranty fee. The Apple warranty doesn’t cover damage caused by accident or abuse. If your screen cracks due to a manufacturing defect, it’s covered by the Apple warranty and consumer law.

The cost to service an accidentally damaged screen depends on your Apple Watch model, any additional damage, and if you have AppleCare+ coverage.

AppleCare+ includes up to two incidents of accidental damage, each with a service fee. You can use each incident for screen damage. If you don’t have AppleCare+, the out-of-warranty fee might apply.
