Express Replacement Service is a benefit of your AppleCare+ coverage, or you might be able to buy it separately.
How much does Express Replacement Service cost?
Your AppleCare+ coverage includes Express Replacement Service. You’ll pay related costs, such as out-of-warranty or replacement fees, only if they apply.
If you don’t have AppleCare+, ask your support representative if you can buy Express Replacement Service directly from Apple.
How fast is Express Replacement Service?
You’ll get a replacement iPhone with factory settings approximately two to three business days after you request it.
Is my product eligible for Express Replacement Service?
Express Replacement Service is a benefit of AppleCare+ and is available for most iPhone issues. If you don't have AppleCare+, we’ll test your iPhone and tell you if it’s eligible for this service.
How do I get Express Replacement Service?
Contact Apple online or by phone to make an Express Replacement Service request. We’ll let you know if your product qualifies.
How do I return my original product?
We’ll send your replacement iPhone with shipping materials and instructions. Return your original iPhone to us within 10 business days of your request to avoid paying late fees.
What should I do before service?
- Back up your iPhone with iCloud or iTunes. You'll need the backup to restore your content after you get your replacement.
- If your iPhone has a SIM card, take it out and keep it.
- Keep your cables and other accessories.

What other charges will I pay?
When you request Express Replacement Service, we put a temporary authorization on your credit card to cover the replacement value of your product. This authorization will expire if your repair is covered under warranty, an AppleCare plan, or consumer law and we receive your original product on time. In that case, you won’t pay for repair or late fees.
For issues that aren’t covered by warranty, an AppleCare plan, or consumer law, we’ll charge you the out-of-warranty fee. If we can’t repair your original device, we’ll charge you the replacement value.

When we send you a replacement iPhone through Express Replacement Service, you need to return your original iPhone to us within 10 business days. After 10 days, we'll charge you the replacement value.
If your original iPhone arrives late, we’ll remove the charge for the replacement value. You’ll pay only a late fee. A late return is between 10 and 20 business days after we ship you the replacement.
If your iPhone is severely damaged and we can’t fix it, or if we never receive it, we’ll charge you the replacement value.
