Review and remove synced computers with Safety Check
Safety Check users (with iOS 17 or later) may receive a prompt to review synced computers. This screen appears when Safety Check detects that your iPhone is set up to sync with a computer through a Wi-Fi or a physical connection. These types of connections can be used to transfer data between an iPhone and a computer, and make backups of your iPhone on a computer. These types of transfers happen between devices, and don’t require an iCloud account. Content that may be transferred between devices in these types of syncs include messages, browsing history, photos, files and more.
You can use Safety Check to review and remove any synced computers that you don’t recognise. You may want to capture a screenshot of the computer information before removing it. When available, Safety Check provides the:
Type of computer that the device is synced to, including the name it has been assigned.
Date and time the sync was set up.
Serial number of the computer.
Note: If you remove a synced computer, future syncs with that computer will not occur unless the sync is restarted, but the information that was previously transferred will remain on the computer until it’s deleted.
