Use windows and tabs in News on Mac
In Apple News on your Mac, you can open several windows and tabs to view and switch between multiple channels, topics and stories at one time.
Note: Apple News isn’t available in all countries or regions. See the Apple Support article Availability of Apple Media Services.
Use windows in News
Go to the News app on your Mac.
Do any of the following:
Open a new window: Choose File > New Window. You can also Control-click a channel or topic in Following or Suggested in the sidebar, or a story in a feed, then choose Open in New Window.
Merge all open windows into one tabbed window: Choose Window > Merge All Windows.
Use tabs in News
Go to the News app on your Mac.
Do any of the following:
Show or hide the tab bar: Choose View > Show Tab Bar or View > Hide Tab Bar.
Open a new tab in the current News window: Choose File > New Tab, or click at the end of the tab bar.
Open a story in a new tab in a News window: While browsing stories in a feed, press and hold the Command key while you click a story.
Show all tabs: To show thumbnails of all your open tabs, choose View > Show All Tabs. In the tab overview, click a tab to open it, or click to open a new tab. To return to the current tab, choose View > Exit Tab Overview.
Move between tabs: Click a tab or press Control-Tab, or Control-Shift-Tab, to go to the next or previous tab.
Reorder tabs: Drag a tab left or right.
Move a tab to another News window: Click the tab, then choose Window > Move Tab to New Window.
Close a tab: Move the pointer over the tab, then click .
Close all other tabs: Move the pointer over the tab you want to keep open, then click Option-click .
