object

An object is any item you place on a slide, including images (photos), text boxes, shapes, 3D objects, tables and graphs. To add an object to a slide, click one of the object buttons in the toolbar.

The Keynote toolbar with Table, Graph, Text, Shape and Media buttons.

By default, objects are free floating, so you can position them anywhere on the slide or layer them with text or other objects. When an object is selected, formatting controls for it appear in the Format sidebar to the right of the slide. You can add content to objects and modify their appearance.

You can also place some objects (shapes, images, videos, equations and image galleries) inline with the text inside a text box or shape, so that they move with the text as you type.
