There are a few ways you can turn your torch on or off. You can ask Siri, or you can use Control Centre on an iPhone with Face ID or an iPad Pro. Or use Control Centre with an iPhone with a Home button.
Ask Siri
Here are a few examples of how you can use Siri to turn on your torch:
- "Hey Siri, turn on my torch."
- "Hey Siri, will you turn on my torch?"
- "Hey Siri, turn off my torch."
Turn on or off the torch on iPhone models with Face ID or on iPad Pro
- Swipe down from the top right-hand corner to open Control Centre on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap the Flashlight button

- To turn off the flashlight, tap the Flashlight button
again.
If you don't see the Flashlight button when you open Control Centre, you can change your settings to add it. Go to Settings > Control Centre, then tap Flashlight in the list of available controls.
You can also turn on the flashlight from the Lock screen: Press and hold the Flashlight button , in the bottom left-hand corner.
Use Control Centre on an iPhone with a Home button
- Swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen to open Control Centre on your iPhone.
- Tap the Flashlight button

- To turn off the flashlight, tap the Flashlight button
again.
Change the brightness of the torch
- On an iPhone with Face ID or an iPad, swipe down from the upper right-hand corner to open Control Centre. Or on an iPhone with a Home button, swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen to open Control Centre.
- Press and hold the Flashlight button

- Drag the slider up or down.
