Top up your travel card with Apple Pay
Use Apple Pay to add money or passes to eligible travel cards on your iPhone or Apple Watch. If you manage a family member’s Apple Watch on your iPhone, you can also remotely add money to their travel card.
How to top up your travel card
On your iPhone or Apple Watch, open the Wallet app.
Tap your travel card.
Tap Add money.
Choose an amount to add to your card and tap Add.
Choose a card to pay with and authenticate to complete the transaction.
Buy new travel passes or tickets
On your iPhone or Apple Watch, open the Wallet app.
Choose the travel card you want to add value to.
If you’re using your iPhone, tap the More button.
Tap Buy Passes.
Choose the pass you want to purchase.
Follow the steps on the screen to confirm your purchase.
Renew or buy more passes
On your iPhone or Apple Watch, open the Wallet app.
Choose the travel card you want to add value to.
Tap Renew or Buy More.
Follow the steps on the screen to confirm your purchase and add value to your card.
How to top up a family member’s travel card
If you manage a family member’s Apple Watch with your iPhone, you can also add money to the travel card on their Apple Watch. When they make a request, respond and top up their card.
Tap the request in iMessage.
Choose an amount to send.
Tap the
.Confirm the purchase with Face ID or Touch ID.
If you can't top up your transit card
Find out what to do if you add money and your balance doesn’t update in the Wallet app.
If you can’t see the option to add money, check the website of the travel card issuer to find out how to add value.
If you can’t top up your family member’s travel card, check that they haven’t removed the card from their Apple Watch.
