Enable IT with best practices
When you deploy Apple devices in education, your IT department plays an important role. Use these best practices when working with them to insure your deployment goes smoothly.
Make sure your team is aligned on the milestones you established for your deployment project.
Apple has also developed a series of on-demand webcasts to support successful Apple deployments. You’ll find sessions for IT staff on device deployment and management, as well as tools and curriculum sessions designed to support teachers. Watch the IT and Teaching Tools Webcasts for Education and Getting Started with Apple School Manager online videos, available in English.
Leverage training and consultation services from Apple Professional Services (APS) or from your reseller. APS offerings are individually tailored to higher education and K–12 institutions. They’re designed to help you plan, integrate, and deploy Apple technology through in-depth technical services, project management, and coaching. To inquire about Apple Professional Services, contact your Apple Education sales representative or call 1-800-800-2775 in the United States for more information. For more information, see Apple Professional Services.
See your MDM vendor’s documentation for training resources. Many MDM solutions also have support communities and online learning resources.
Develop a change management procedure that includes members of your deployment leadership team for decisions that impact the device and learning experience.
Take advantage of the Education Support resources available from Apple, including support by phone and the Apple Support Community.
Plan for ongoing support and service, including help desk, service procedures, documentation, and monitoring. Depending on the scale of your deployment, consider integrating AppleCare Professional Support and Global Service Exchange (GSX) for self-service repairs.
