Find the software version on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Use your device or a computer to find the version of iOS on your iPhone or iPod touch, or the version of iPadOS on your iPad.

Find the software version using a computer

1. Open the app for your computer:

   • The Finder on a Mac with macOS Catalina or later

   • iTunes on a Mac with macOS Mojave or earlier

   • iTunes or the Apple Devices app on a Windows PC

2. Connect your device to your computer.

3. Select your device. If your device is missing, get help connecting it to your computer.

4. Find the software version on the General tab in the Finder or the Apple Devices app, or on the Summary tab in iTunes.
