Mac mini (2024) Antenna Plate
Before You Begin
Remove the following part before you begin:
Tools
Adjustable torque driver (10–34 Ncm)
Nylon probe (black stick)
Torx Plus 5IP 50 mm bit
Refer to a full list of tools required for all repairs.
Important: If you're installing a replacement antenna plate, transfer the battery, antenna connector board, and Wi-Fi antennas to the replacement antenna plate.
Note: Some images in this procedure show the battery removed, but you can remove the antenna plate with the battery installed.
Removal
Use the 10–34 Ncm adjustable torque driver and 5IP bit to remove the eight 5IP screws (923-11047) from the antenna plate.
Gently lift the antenna plate and move it toward the front of the housing (1). Then rotate the antenna plate toward you (2) and lay it flat on the housing (3).
Caution: The antenna connector board flex cable is still connected to the logic board. Don't damage the antenna connector board flex cable while lifting and rotating the antenna plate.
Use the 10–34 Ncm adjustable torque driver and 5IP bit to remove the four 5IP screws (923-11055) from the antenna connector board cowling. Remove the cowling and save it for reassembly.
Use the flat end of the black stick to lift the end of the antenna connector board flex cable off the connector on antenna connector board. Then remove the antenna plate from the housing.
Reassembly
Press the end of the antenna connector board flex cable to the connector on the antenna connector board.
Position the antenna connector board cowling over the antenna connector board.
Set the torque value on the 10–34 Ncm adjustable torque driver to 12 Ncm.
Use the adjustable torque driver and 5IP bit to reinstall the four 5IP screws (923-11055) into the antenna connector board cowling.
Gently rotate the antenna plate away from you (1), then position it on the housing (2).
Caution: The antenna connector board flex cable is still connected to the logic board. Don't damage the antenna connector board flex cable while lifting and rotating the antenna plate.
Set the torque value on the 10–34 Ncm adjustable torque driver to 31 Ncm.
Use the adjustable torque driver and 5IP bit to reinstall the eight 5IP screws (923-11047) into the antenna plate.
