Mac OS X 10.5: Proxy configurations and Parental Controls

Learn which web proxy configurations work and do not work with Parental Controls in Mac OS X 10.5 or later.

Proxy configurations that work:

  • When the proxy is identified by an IP address or server name and does not require authentication.

Proxy configurations that will not work:

  • When the proxy is determined dynamically with a PAC file.

  • When the proxy server requires authentication.
