Locate a friend in Find My on Mac
After you start following a friend, you can see their location, add them to favourites, label their location and more.
See your friend’s location
In the Find My app on your Mac, click People.
In the People list, select a name.
If your friend can be located: They appear on a map so you can see where they are. As they move, their location is continuously updated.
If you see a blue circle, the location is approximate.
If your friend can’t be located: You see “No location found” below their name.
Make sure they’re sharing their location and that Location Services is turned on.
If you aren’t following your friend: You see “Can see your location” below their name. Ask to follow a friend to see their location.
You can also get notified when friends change their location.
Mark favourite friends
Favourite friends appear at the top of the People list and are marked by a star.
In the Find My app on your Mac, click People.
In the People list, select a name.
Click the Info button on the map, then click Add [Friend] to Favourites.
Get directions to a friend’s location
In the Find My app on your Mac, click People.
In the People list, select a name.
Click the Info button on the map, then click Directions.
The Maps app opens with the directions from your location to your friend’s current location. See Get directions in Maps.
Contact a friend
In the Find My app on your Mac, click People.
In the People list, select a name.
Click the Info button on the map, click Contact, then choose an option.
Note: Location sharing and finding people aren’t available in all countries or regions.
