Set up Directory Utility on a remote server using Directory Utility on Mac
You can use Directory Utility on your Mac to remotely set up and manage how a Mac with macOS Server installed accesses directory services.
In the Directory Utility app on your Mac, choose File > Connect.
Enter the following connection and authentication information for the Mac with macOS Server installed that you want to configure:
Address: Enter the DNS host name or IP address of the Mac with macOS Server installed you want to configure.
Username: Enter the username of an administrator on the server.
Password: Enter the password for the username you entered.
Click Connect.
Change the settings as needed in the Services and Search Policy panes.
Changes you make affect the remote server that you connected to in the previous steps.
Choose File > Disconnect to disconnect your remote Mac from the Mac with macOS Server installed.
