How to transfer a child to another Family Sharing group
As the organiser of a Family Sharing group, you can transfer a child’s Apple Account to another family group. Depending on the child’s age, country or region, you may be able to remove them from their family group without transferring them to another family group.
If your child is under 13*, you can usually remove them from a Family Sharing group by transferring them to another family group. Or a parent or guardian can request to delete their Apple Account, let the deletion take effect, then remove the child from the family group. There’s no other way to remove a child from a family group if they’re under 13.
If your child is between the ages of 13 and 17* and Screen Time and parental controls are set for their device, the family organiser must turn off Screen Time and parental controls before the child can be removed from the family group, transferred to another family group or request to leave the family group on their own.
Depending on a child’s age, country or region, their Apple Account may have to stay connected to a Family Sharing group until they turn 18.
