Sending diagnostic and usage information about your iPod touch, iPhone, or iPad to Apple
Apple uses the information to improve the quality and performance of its products and services. The information may include details about hardware and operating system specifications, performance statistics, and data about how you use your device and apps.
Diagnostic and usage information is collected only with your explicit consent, and is submitted anonymously to Apple. None of the collected information identifies you personally. Personal data is either not logged at all, or is removed from any reports before they’re sent to Apple.
Select reporting options when you set up your iPod touch, iPhone, or iPad
Connect your iPod touch, iPhone, or iPad to your computer and follow the onscreen instructions to set up your device.
During setup, a message appears, asking your permission to send diagnostic and usage information about your device to Apple.
Do one of the following:
To allow iTunes to send information automatically, select “Do not ask me again,” and then click Agree.
If you want iTunes to ask for your permission each time it sends information to Apple, deselect “Do not ask me again,” and then click Agree.
If you don’t want your device information sent to Apple, select “Do not ask me again,” and then click Disagree.
Change your device’s reporting options
Connect your iPod touch, iPhone, or iPad to your computer.
In the iTunes app on your Mac, hold down the Control key on your keyboard while you click your device (below Devices in the sidebar).
Choose Reset Warnings from the menu that appears.
The next time iTunes asks you for permission to send information, follow step 2 in the previous task to set your reporting options.
Reports are submitted to Apple using your Internet connection. Your computer and device keep the information for one month after a report is generated, and then delete the information.
