MIDI Studio window in Audio MIDI Setup on Mac
Use the MIDI Studio window to describe the configuration of MIDI devices or a MIDI interface connected to your Mac. Other apps that work with MIDI, such as sequencers, can use this configuration information to control your MIDI devices.
In the Audio MIDI Setup app on your Mac, choose Window > Show MIDI Studio.
Available MIDI devices appear in Hierarchical View or List View.
Change icon size slider
Drag the slider to change the size of the icons in Hierarchical View.
Choose MIDI configuration
To create a new MIDI configuration, choose New Configuration from the pop-up menu.
To duplicate, rename, or delete an existing configuration, choose Edit Configurations.
Add External MIDI Device
Click the Add button to add a device to a configuration.
Remove Selected Device
Click the Remove button to remove a selected device from a configuration.
Show Device Info
Click the Device Info button to set up a new audio device or see the properties and settings of an existing device.
Click the Rescan MIDI button to look again for a device that’s connected and on but doesn’t appear in the MIDI Studio window. See If a connected MIDI device isn’t shown.
Test MIDI Setup
Click the Test MIDI Setup button to send MIDI test information to and from your MIDI device to test the MIDI Out port and In port.
Click the Configure Bluetooth button to scan for and configure Bluetooth MIDI devices.
Configure Network Driver
Click the Configure Network Driver button to configure the MIDI network driver to send and receive MIDI information between computers over a network.
Hierarchical View and List View
Click the Hierarchical View button or the List View button to change how the MIDI configuration is displayed in the MIDI Studio window.
