iMac (24-inch, 2024) Display Backlight Flex Cable

Before You Begin

Remove the following parts before you begin:

Tools

  • ESD-safe tweezers

  • Support wedge kit

Refer to a full list of tools required for all repairs.

Removal

  1. Position the housing with the logic board facing up.

  2. Use ESD-safe tweezers to peel the polyester film tape from the display backlight flex cable connector. Save it for reassembly.

  3. Squeeze both sides of the end of the display backlight flex cable and pull it straight out of the connector and remove it from the housing.

Reassembly

  1. Slide the end of the display backlight flex cable into the connector.

  2. Press the polyester film tape onto the display backlight flex cable connector.

    • Important: Install new polyester film tape when it’s provided with a replacement part.

Reinstall the following parts to complete reassembly:
