Downloads folder

The default location for files you download from the internet, receive as attachments, or accept using AirDrop. Most apps you use to download items, such as Safari or Messages, place items in the Downloads folder.

By default, the Downloads folder is available in the Dock and in the Finder sidebar. In the Dock, the folder is also called a stack.
