How to add an AirTag to Find My

You can add an AirTag, or other compatible Find My network accessories and products in Find My — which can help you to keep track of personal items, like keys, a backpack, and more.

How AirTag works with Find My

AirTag and other compatible Find My network accessories and products use the Find My network — an encrypted, anonymous network of Apple devices. Devices in the Find My network use secure Bluetooth technology to detect your missing items that are nearby and report their approximate location back to you.

Add an AirTag to Find My

You can connect an AirTag to your iPhone or iPad quickly through AirTag setup, or through the Find My app.

  1. Hold your AirTag near your iPhone or iPad, then tap Connect. If you have more than one AirTag and get the alert "More than one AirTag detected," make sure that only one AirTag is near your device at a time.
