Get Apple Music notifications

You can get notifications when your top artists release new music or friends follow you in Apple Music.

Apple Music sends notifications to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when top artists that you listen to release new music, new shows that you like become available, or friends follow your activity.

If you don't want to receive notifications from Apple Music on your device, you can turn them off.

Turn off Apple Music notifications on your iOS device

  1. Open the Music app. 
  2. Tap For You, then tap your photo or the My Account icon in the upper-right corner.
  3. Under Notifications, turn off Friend Activity to stop receiving notifications when friends start following you. Turn off "Artists and Shows" to stop receiving notifications from the artists and about the shows that you follow.

Turn off Apple Music notifications on your Android device

  1. Open the Apple Music app.
  2. Tap the Menu icon in the upper-left corner, then tap Settings > Account Settings.
  3. Under Notifications, tap Manage Notifications.
  4. Turn off Friends to stop receiving notifications when friends start following you. Turn off "Artists and Shows" to stop receiving notifications from the artists and about the shows that you follow.
