Hardware preferences
Use the Hardware pane of Keyboard Accessibility System Preferences to enable and set options for Sticky Keys and Slow Keys.
To open this pane, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Accessibility, click Keyboard, then click Hardware.
Enable Sticky Keys | Press a set of modifier keys one at a time in sequence, instead of all at once. For example, you would enter the key combination Option-Command-F5 by pressing each key in sequence. |
Enable Slow Keys | Adjust the delay between when you press a key and when it’s activated. |
Sticky Keys options
Press the Shift key five times to toggle Sticky Keys | Use your keyboard to turn Sticky Keys on or off. |
Beep when a modifier key is set | Have your Mac make a sound when you press a modifier key. |
Display pressed keys on screen | Show symbols in the selected area on the screen for the modifier keys you press. |
Slow Keys options
Use click key sounds | Have keys make a sound when pressed. You hear a sound when you press a key, and a different sound when the key is accepted. |
Acceptance Delay | Set the delay between when you press a key and when it’s accepted. |
To quickly enable or disable Sticky Keys or Slow Keys using the Accessibility Options shortcut panel, press Option-Command-F5 (or if your Mac has a Touch Bar, quickly press Touch ID three times).
