If Time Machine doesn't appear correctly on one of your Mac displays

If you're using more than one display with your Mac, Time Machine might not appear correctly onscreen.

When you enter Time Machine on a Mac that is using more than one display, the Time Machine interface might be obscured, unresponsive, or displayed at the wrong resolution on one of the displays.

Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Mission Control. Deselect “Displays have separate spaces.” You might need to log out of the current user, then log back in after making this change.

The Split View feature of OS X El Capitan works only when the “Displays have separate spaces” setting is enabled.
