Set up a Bluetooth audio device to work with Mac
Bluetooth is a wireless technology that allows your Mac and devices to communicate without using cables.
To use a Bluetooth audio device such as a headset or speakers, you must first connect the device with your Mac, then select the device as your input or output device.
Set up a Bluetooth audio device
On your Mac, choose the device from the Bluetooth status menu () in the menu bar. If it’s your first time connecting the device, choose Connect; if you’ve connected this device before, double-click the device name.
If the Bluetooth status menu isn’t in the menu bar, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Bluetooth , then select the “Show Bluetooth in menu bar” checkbox at the bottom of the window.
Open Bluetooth preferences for me
Note: If you don’t see Bluetooth in System Preferences, your computer doesn’t support Bluetooth.
Follow the onscreen instructions to set up the device.
