Activate Siri

Note: You must be connected to the internet to use Siri.

To activate Siri on your Mac, do any of the following:

  • Press and hold the Microphone key in the row of function keys on your keyboard. If this key isn’t available, use the keyboard shortcut specified in Siri settings.

  • Click Siri or Apple Intelligence Siri in the menu bar. If neither key is shown, you can add them using Control Center settings.

  • Say “Hey Siri” or “Siri” (if this option is available and turned on in Siri settings). To check whether “Hey Siri” or “Siri” is available for your device and language, see the Apple Support article Use Siri on all your Apple devices.

  • Tap Siri or Apple Intelligence Siri in the Touch Bar (if your Mac has a Touch Bar).
