AirPods Pro 1 are sweat and water resistant for non-water sports and exercise, and have a rating of IPX4 under IEC standard 60529. The MagSafe Charging Case and Wireless Charging Case for AirPods Pro 1 are not water resistant or sweat resistant. The AirPods and charging case for these models are sweat and water resistant for non-water sports and exercise, and have a rating of IPX4 under IEC standard 60529:

AirPods Pro 2 with MagSafe Charging Case (USB-C) and AirPods 4 (ANC) with Wireless Charging Case are dust resistant and sweat and water resistant for non-water sports and exercise, and have a rating of IP54 under IEC standard 60529.
AirPods Pro, AirPods 3, and AirPods 4 (both models) are sweat and water resistant, but they are not waterproof or sweatproof. They aren't designed for use in water sports like swimming, or for showering. After workouts, heavy sweating, or water splashes and before putting AirPods Pro, AirPods 3, or AirPods 4 (both models) into its charging case, wipe down your AirPods with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Don't use heat or compressed air to dry your AirPods.

Keep your AirPods Pro, AirPods 3, and AirPods 4 safe
Sweat, water, and dust resistance aren't permanent conditions and can diminish over time. AirPods and charging cases can't be rechecked or resealed for sweat, water, or dust resistance.
Follow these tips to avoid damage to your AirPods Pro, AirPods 3, and AirPods 4:
Don't place your AirPods under running water, such as a shower or faucet.
Don't swim with or otherwise submerge your AirPods.
Don't put AirPods in the washing machine or dryer.
Don't wear AirPods in a sauna or steam room.
Don't expose AirPods to high-velocity water, such as while water skiing.
Avoid dropping AirPods or subjecting them to other impacts.
If your AirPods Pro, AirPods 3, or AirPods 4 are exposed to liquid through any of the scenarios above:
Wipe them clean with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth.
Allow them to dry completely — for at least two hours — before using them or placing them in the charging case.
Don't expose AirPods Pro, AirPods 3, and AirPods 4 to soaps, shampoos, conditioners, lotions, perfumes, solvents, detergent, acids or acidic foods, insect repellent, sunscreen, oil, or hair dye. If your AirPods Pro, AirPods 3, or AirPods 4 are exposed to dust, wipe them clean with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Don't use cleaning products or compressed air.
