Check if movies and TV shows have accessibility features in the Apple TV app

Movies and TV shows with accessibility features are labeled with AD for audio descriptions, CC for closed captions, and SDH for subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing.

On your iPhone or iPad

  1. Open the Apple TV app.

  2. Tap Search and enter the name of a movie or TV show.

  3. Tap the movie or TV show to go to its description page.

  4. Check for closed captions (CC), subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing (SDH), or audio descriptions (AD).

On your Mac or on the web

  1. Open the Apple TV app or go to tv.apple.com.

  2. Use the search bar to find a movie or TV show.

Closed-captions (CC) content is a visual transcription of a video's dialogue, as well as any non-verbal communication. CC content might also help identify the speaker in a video.

Subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing (SDH) content is similar to closed captions, but SDH content might be available in some situations where CC is not, and might be available in additional languages.
