Send, accept, and decline a copy of a course in iTunes U for web
As the owner of a course, you can push a copy of an existing course to another instructor to share your course, collaborate and leverage existing courses, and provide course templates for other instructors. The instructor receiving the invitation can then use his or her Inbox to accept or decline the course.
Send a copy of a course
As the owner of a course, you can choose Send a Copy from the Settings pop-up menu in the dashboard to push a copy of an existing course to another instructor. Using course copy, you can share copies of your course, collaborate and leverage existing courses, and provide course templates for other instructors.
When sending a copy of a course, iTunes U does not change anything in your original course but instead creates a snapshot of your original course including all info pages, posts, and materials. If a student roster exists in the original course, iTunes U does not copy the student roster over to the snapshot version of the course.
In iTunes U for web, click in the row for the course you want to send.
Choose Send a Copy, then enter the ID for the new instructor.
The instructor receives the course in its current state. The student roster is not included. After you click Send Copy, changes you make to the original course are not reflected in the copy you sent.
Click Send Copy.
iTunes U copies the original course and sends the copy to the instructor you specified in step 2. If a student roster exists in the original course, iTunes U does not copy over the student roster.
See the following table for how iTunes U copies any posts or announcements.

iTunes U copies the posts or announcements to the Posts | Drafts pane for the new instructor to review and edit before posting. Posts in the Posts | Drafts pane are not visible to students until the new course owner posts them in the new course. In addition, because all posts in a self-paced course must be associated with a topic in the course outline, the new course owner cannot save or post announcements in the Posts | Drafts pane until he or she associates them with an outline topic in the new course. If the original in-session course did not contain an outline, the new course owner must create an outline before he or she can review and edit the posts or announcements in the new self-paced course.
iTunes U removes dates and copies the posts or announcements to the Posts | Drafts pane for the new instructor to review, edit, and select new dates before posting to students. Posts in the Posts | Drafts pane are not visible to students until the new course owner posts them in the new course.
Note: To preserve the original posts and associated dates for the new in-session course, the new instructor can deselect Remove Dates for Assignments and Posts.
self-paced course
iTunes U copies the original posts and immediately posts the information to students.

Accept a copy of a course
After a course owner sends you a copy of his or her course, you can use your Inbox to accept or decline the course.
To access the course, you must sign in to iTunes U and accept the course. When you accept a copy of a course, iTunes U adds the original course to your dashboard including all info pages, posts, and materials. iTunes U does not copy materials already in your My Materials Library or students in the roster, if one existed.
In iTunes U for web, click your instructor name at the top of the iTunes U dashboard, then choose Inbox.
iTunes U displays a pop-up pane listing courses where your response is still pending.
Click Accept, then enter a new course name.
Do one of the following:
Select Self-Paced, then use the Up Arrow and Down Arrow keys to specify the approximate amount of time, in weeks, you expect students to take to complete the course.
By default, iTunes U calculates the number of weeks based on the original course, rounded to the nearest week.
Select In-Session, then specify the start and end dates for your course.
By default, if the original course start date is today or in the future, iTunes U uses the same dates. If the original course start date is in the past, iTunes U sets the start date to today and calculates the end date based on the original course.
For any posts or announcements in the original course, iTunes U removes dates and copies the posts or announcements to the Posts | Drafts pane for you to review, edit, and select new dates before posting to your students. Posts in the Posts | Drafts pane are not visible to your students until you post them in the new course. Deselect Remove Dates for Assignments and Posts, if you want iTunes U to preserve the original posts or announcements and associated dates for the new in-session course.
Click Continue, choose instructor info for the course, then click OK.
You can keep the previous instructor’s info or replace the information with your own instructor info. You can also edit the info later in the Instructor Info For This Course dialog.
