Accept preinstalled Pro Apps on your new Mac

Learn what to do if you can't update or find preinstalled Pro Apps like Final Cut Pro for Mac or Logic Pro for Mac.

If you can't update your preinstalled Pro Apps

If the apps are installed on your Mac but you can't update them, here's what to do:

  1. On your Mac, open the App Store app.

  2. Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar. If you don't see your name, click the sign-in buttonNo alt supplied for Image, then sign in with your Apple ID.

  3. If you have any unaccepted apps, the App Store shows an Accept button and a list of apps that you can accept. Click Accept. You might be asked to sign in again with your Apple ID.

  4. After you accept the apps, click Updates to check for updates to your apps.

If you accepted the apps and you still see an error when you update, update the software on your Mac.

If you can't find your preinstalled Pro Apps

If you bought your Mac with preinstalled Pro Apps and you can't find the apps, download them:

  1. On your Mac, open the App Store app.

  2. Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar. If you don't see your name, click the the sign-in buttonNo alt supplied for Image, then sign in with your Apple ID. You should see a message that you have a certain number of apps to adopt.

  3. Click Accept. You might be asked to sign in again with your Apple ID.

  4. Click the download buttonNo alt supplied for Image next to the apps that you want to install.
