Use three languages in one keyboard on your iPhone with iOS 18
With iOS 18, you can add more languages to your keyboard and use an alphabetical keyboard layout.
With iOS 18, you can set up a multilingual keyboard on your iPhone that supports three languages. You can then type in English and up to two additional Indian languages — like Marathi and Hindi — without the need to switch keyboards.
Add an additional language to your keyboard
In the Settings app, tap General.
Tap Keyboard.
Tap Add New Keyboard.
Tap the language you want to add to your keyboard.
Select Add to English (US) Keyboard, then tap Done.
Languages supported include English, Bangla, Gujarati, Hindi, Marathi, Punjabi, Tamil, and Telugu.
To use a three language keyboard on iOS 18, you need an iPhone 12 or later, iPad Air (4th generation or later), iPad Pro 11-inch (3rd generation or later), iPad Pro 12.9-inch (5th generation or later), or iPad mini 6th generation or later.
Change your keyboard layout
With iOS 18, you can use a keyboard with an alphabetical layout for 11 supported Indian languages. This keyboard layout is initially available in Bangla, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
To set an alphabetical keyboard layout when you use one of these supported languages:
In the Settings app, tap General.
Tap Keyboard.
Tap the keyboard that you want to change the layout for.
Tap Alphabetical.
