SMS phone number verification for UK, Ireland, and Australia

Learn more about how AppleCare uses SMS phone number verification to help verify ownership of a phone number in specific support scenarios. This article applies to the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Australia.

Terms and conditions

For specific scenarios, Apple may request to send an SMS verification code to your phone number on file. During a support case, a unique code will be sent to your phone, which you can then provide back to the AppleCare employee assisting you in your case.

  • UK/Ireland: Standard message rates apply. There is 1 message sent per request.

  • Australia: $0.25 per message. There is 1 message sent per request.

SMS Verification isn't available or required for most support cases. It will be offered to you when it's appropriate.
