Here's what you need
- To use Voice Isolation or Wide Spectrum during a FaceTime audio or video call, you'll need iOS 15 or later.
- To use Voice Isolation during a phone call, you'll need iOS 16.4 or later. Wide Spectrum is not available in phone calls.
- With iOS 15 or later, Voice Isolation and Wide Spectrum are also available in certain third-party apps.
You can use Voice Isolation and Wide Spectrum on these devices:
- iPhone XR, iPhone XS models, and later
- iPad (8th generation) and later
- All iPad Pro 11-inch models
- iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd generation) and later
- iPad Air (3rd generation) and later
- iPad mini (5th generation) and later
Turn on Voice Isolation or Wide Spectrum
- During your call, swipe down from the top-right corner of your screen to open Control Center.
- Tap Mic Mode.

- Select Voice Isolation or Wide Spectrum.
Your selection affects only the app you're using to make the call. Voice Isolation or Wide Spectrum persists for that app until you choose a different Mic Mode.
