Share a playground on iPad

1. In the Swift Playgrounds app on your iPad, go to the My Playgrounds screen, tap Select, then tap the playground you want to share.

2. Tap .

3. Choose how you want to share your playground:

   • AirDrop: Tap a recipient. The recipient must accept your document before it’s sent.

   • Messages, Mail, or another app: Tap the app icon, enter the recipient and other requested information, then send it.

   • Copy: Tap Copy to create a copy of your playground that you can paste.

If you want to explain your code with a video, you can record your playground and add comments as you record. Videos you create are saved to your iPad and can be shared like any other video.

1. In a playground in the Swift Playgrounds app on your iPad, tap , then tap Record Movie.

2. Tap to start recording.

3. To stop recording, tap .

4. After you stop recording, do any of the following:

   • Tap Save to save the video to Photos.

   • Tap the Play button in the middle of the screen to watch the video you just recorded.

5. To share or copy your video, tap , then choose how to share:

   • AirDrop: Tap a recipient. The recipient must accept your document before it’s sent.

   • Mail, Messages, or another app: Tap the app icon, enter the recipient and other requested information, then tap .

   • Copy: Tap Copy to create a copy of your video that you can paste.

6. Tap Done to return to your playground.

You can broadcast a playground to an audience from your iPad if you have a third-party app that allows you to livestream mobile games. If you don’t have an app that streams content, you can find one on the App Store.

1. In the Swift Playgrounds app on your iPad, open the playground, tap , then tap Broadcast Live.

2. If you have an app for livestreaming mobile games, tap the streaming app.

   If you don’t have an app for livestreaming mobile games, tap Find Live Streaming Apps, then choose a third-party app to stream to.

3. Tap to begin streaming Swift Playgrounds.

4. When you want to stop streaming, tap .

You can create a PDF of your playground that you can print or share with others. The PDF is an image-based file (it doesn’t contain text information), so you can’t copy and paste text from it.

1. In the Swift Playgrounds app on your iPad, open the playground, tap , then tap Create PDF.

2. Choose a way to share your PDF:

   • AirDrop: Tap a recipient. The recipient must accept your document before it’s sent.

   • Messages, Mail, or another app: Tap the app icon, enter the recipient and any other requested information, then send it.

You can export a playground to share it with others or save a version for yourself.

1. In the Swift Playgrounds app on your iPad, open a playground, tap , then choose Advanced > Export New Playground.

2. To rename the playground, select its name, then enter a new name.

3. To use the changes you’ve made as the new starting point for the exported playground, make sure “Start Over with My Changes” is turned on. Then, if the person who receives your playground chooses to reset it, their changes will be discarded but not yours.

   If “Start Over with My Changes” is turned off when you export the playground, both your changes and theirs will be discarded if they reset the playground.

4. To save the playground to your My Playgrounds page, tap Export to My Playgrounds; to share it, tap Share Exported Playground, then choose how you want to share your playground (Mail, Messages, AirDrop, and so on).
